Janette Bornmarker is a Swedish illustrator and a visual artist specializing in printmaking, active since graduating in 1995 from the prestigious Beckman School of Design in Stockholm. Her figurative, graphic expression features flat shapes, clean lines, and inky brushstrokes. She blends digital and traditional media, with drawing and mark-making at its core.

"My stay gave me valuable time to immerse myself in my artistic process, a state hard to achieve in everyday life. At the residence, everyone was kind and helpful. I also made good friends, with whom I still keep in close contact."

"Beyond that, one of my strongest impressions was the feeling of so much going on in the area: with a thriving art scene where people seem genuinely curious about each other. Therefore I would love to collaborate with German fellow artists in the future."
